ELISE DRAKE

Elise Drake is a singer-songwriter based in Barapa Barapa country in Koondrook, Victoria.


Raised on a steady diet of 90’s alternative bands, Elise's music traces the edges of indie rock and alt-country. Influenced by female powerhouses Stevie Nicks, Alanis Morissette, Shirley Manson, and Chrissy Amphlett, Elise’s raspy vocals and passion fuelled performances will have you hooked from the onset. .


After a whirlwind 4 years residing in the idyllic coastal town of Byron Bay, Elise made the move back to Victoria to pursue her original music and settled in Melbourne. However Covid had other plans, with Melbourne entering its first lockdown only a couple of months into her move. Foreseeing ealy on that this was not a fleeting moment in time, she packed her bags and headed back to the country.


Debut EP “In Waves” was a 2 year long recording project, released in January 2022. Elise recorded the EP remotely via her old farm house in rural Victoria and the USA. Produced by North Carolina-based producer Jonah Levine and co-produced by LA producer, drummer and artist David Ely (dapoolparty), “In Waves” is a swirling, often brooding exploration into the curious corners of Elise’s mind.


The last 18 months have been a wild ride for Elise, promoting her EP whilst gigging tirelessly around Victoria. She’s supported esteemed Australian artists including Adam Harvey, Beccy Cole, Mama Kin Spender, Nick Barker, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers and Stellar Perry (The Voice). Elise was recently invited as a guest singer as part of the regional touring series ‘Keep The Circle Unbroken’, sharing a stage with members of The Waifs, The Screaming Jets, My Friend the Chocolate Cake and Russell Morris band.


Latest single “Another Town” is an alt-country bittersweet love letter to her hometown, exploring the challenges and confines of growing up in a small rural town.
